Each Van Gogh Gemstone jewelry piece is made with fine and/or sterling silver and carefully formed by an artist using dichroic glass.
This piece is impossible to photograph. You have to see it to truly appreciate it. It has a white base with blues and greens that “spark” as it is moved or viewed from different angles. Somehow, it also shows a red tint at certain angles and under various lighting conditions. I’ve never had a piece turn out like this one and don’t know if I could ever replicate it.

Each “Van Gogh Gemstone” is made from multiple layers of hand selected and formed dichroic glass. No two will be alike. Each is as unique as the person wearing it. You will receive the one in the photos.
What is dichroic glass? Dichroic glass is a color shifting glass made with multiple micro-layers of metal oxides deposited on the glass.
It is made by heating high quality art glass in a vacuum chamber, having a variety of metals vaporized by a laser in the chamber and then having those oxides fuse onto the glass in layers so thin that light can still pass through.
Each Van Gogh Gemstone can contain 3, 4, 5 or even more layers of dichroic glass as well as a base glass which can be transparent or opaque.
Each one is carefully made and often shaped and fired multiple times until the final desired result has been reached. Each is truly artist made.
